Marlena Szpunar, Ph.D., Psychologist
Dr. Szpunar joined the practice in 2016 and brings a wealth of training and experience. She has previously worked in hospital, community, and university centres in both British Columbia and Nova Scotia, in which she has provided individual and group therapy to individuals with a broad range of clinical issues, personal concerns, and stressors.

Dr. Szpunar has an MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University. She has extensive training and experience in various treatment modalities, including Attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Psychodynamic/Mentalization-based therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

In addition to being highly-skilled, Dr. Szpunar has a warm, sincere, gentle approach, which allows her to connect quickly and effectively with clients. She has a genuine concern for their well-being and works hard to ensure that they are being offered techniques that represent the most up-to-date, evidence-based practice.
